Message to Coach:
Being on the field since I was 8 years old, it has been a dream to play softball in college. I work hard on the field, in the classroom, and in the gym. I have been told I have a quick release and read the ball well. I want the opportunity to show you how I can be an asset to your team while continuing to learn more about the game. I am looking for a college or university where I can study Biology, get a great education and a school that allows me to play the game I love. There I can build friendships and prepare for my future.
Travel Ball Coach Evaluation
I have had the pleasure of coaching Maddie for the last three years in high school and the last year in travel ball. Maddie has good hands and is a very smart player in the infield with strong instincts. She has worked really hard on improving her strength, speed, and agility over the last year and it has paid big dividends at the plate. Maddie is a line drive hitter who makes consistent contact and is very reliable in the clutch with much-improved power. Most importantly, Maddie is an extremely hard worker both at practice and in the classroom. She has a tremendous work ethic and is always doing extra on her own. She genuinely enjoys all aspects of softball. Maddie is a great teammate who gets along with everyone, respects her coaches and is very coachable. She would be a great asset to any college program.

I’ve seen and known about Madison for over a year now. Watched her both at 16u and now at 18u too. She is a player who is dedicated to being better and like so many players has done most everything to date using her own natural ability. Clearly, she will reap the rewards of a weight and agility program and I believe that all high school players have only touched what they’ll do later in college having put in good workout time. Runs 2.8 – 2.9 and will improve with work.
Maddie WILL put in the time and we’ve talked about the benefits of workout regimens which she’ll do her best with over her senior year in high school. Mostly though SHE WILL WORK and follows instruction very well. She’s fundamental, heady on the field, loves success (a two-time state champion), is a gap-hitter and goes deep into the count under pressure. She’s an RBI kid who will take a 3 – 2 pitch for a walk. Mistake free and a 58 – 60 velo. Plays 2B in high school but as a true UT can also be thrown in at 3B or SS in a pinch.
A gamer you can count on whose parents also want her to be able to consider options that can serve her best academically. A really good kid and a steady performer. Call me if you need more information on Maddie Milne. – Jim Simpson Director of Scouting MidAtlantic Landline 540-878-5334 Cell: 202-494-7917
